An existing house in Chestnut Hill done 25 years ago. The flooring was salvaged from an old barn that had been in a fire. The flooring is actually from the barn exterior sheathing. JJ Hardwood took incredible care to choose each board carefully. After it was installed, the men smelled like smoke for a week. During the sanding process, because the wood was so dry, the wood took 7 coats of poly. It took all week to sand and apply the first four coats, after that we had to wait two days in between each coat to get to the seventh coat.
